Enquiries and website operation
When you email or call us, we use the contact details and information you provide to answer your enquiry and manage our business relationship. Providing information is voluntary, but we need enough detail to respond.
Website requests include technical information such as your IP address, requested page and browser headers. Hosting systems may record this information to deliver and secure the website and investigate faults. Security and operational records are separate from analytics; we do not claim that all server logs are anonymous.
Our lawful basis for enquiries and secure website operation is legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, managing business relationships and operating a secure website. Where applicable, we also process information to take steps towards a contract with you or meet legal obligations.
Aggregate statistics and optional detailed analytics
We use aggregate statistics to understand and improve this website. They run before a choice and after Decline. They retain daily page/source totals, independent coarse audience, browser/device and approximate-country breakdowns, fixed interaction/error counts and numeric foreground, depth and supported performance summaries. These are sums and sample counts, not visitor identifiers, sessions, raw event histories, unique visitors or true bounce rates.
The connection address and browser headers are processed transiently to derive coarse dimensions and approximate country using an offline local database, with no external IP lookup service. The aggregate database does not retain IP addresses, raw User-Agent, exact request times or individual browsing histories. Queries, fragments, full referrers, contact values, form entries, arbitrary destinations and error details are excluded.
Only Agree enables optional detailed self-hosted Umami analytics in addition to aggregate statistics. Detailed analytics receives the website hostname and reviewed content pathname, without query strings, fragments, page titles or referrers. Umami uses technical request information to distinguish visits and sessions and derive browser, device and approximate location statistics. Its visitor/session records are separate from aggregate statistics; cookieless does not mean universally anonymous.
Neither mode uses analytics cookies, advertising, personalization, session replay, heatmaps or cross-site tracking. Portal, redirect and error pages are not measured. No portal credentials or contact values are collected by analytics. Detailed analytics permission is limited to this stated purpose, not unknown future technologies.
Your analytics choice
The banner offers Agree and Decline. Agree permits aggregate statistics and optional detailed analytics; Decline permits aggregate statistics only. Use the same Agree and Decline choices in the Cookie notice to change detailed permission at any time. Withdrawal stops future detailed sends, not already dispatched requests or records already received. It does not stop aggregate statistics.
A choice is saved in local storage only after an explicit action and remains until changed or cleared. It is not a user identifier. With blocked storage the choice works only in the current document. Existing saved all-analytics objections and Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track suppress both modes regardless of a saved permission. No analytics runs without JavaScript. See the Cookie notice for technologies, data categories and measurement definitions.
Who handles information
Authorised staff and providers of hosting, email and IT services may handle information for these purposes. Analytics is self-hosted and reports require authorised administrator access. We may also share information with professional advisers or authorities where necessary.
If providers process information outside the UK, applicable transfer safeguards are required, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards. Contact us for details and copies of safeguards relevant to your information.
How long it is kept
Aggregate statistics and consented detailed records remain in separate self-hosted databases until deleted by the operator; there is no automatic age-based deletion in this feature. Withdrawing detailed permission or clearing browser storage does not delete historical records or undo existing aggregate totals.
Enquiry, relationship, security and operational retention depends on the time needed to respond, investigate incidents, resolve disputes and meet legal record-keeping obligations. These records are separate from analytics and are deleted or anonymised when no longer needed for their purposes.
